Opening of the exhibition ‘‘The Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry. The ‘Mona Lisa’ of manuscripts’’
The landmark exhibition The Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry. The ‘Mona Lisa’ of manuscripts, of which the Fondation Etrillard is a major sponsor, opened on June 7 at the Château de Chantilly.
In 2023, the Foundation officially announced its three-year commitment to support the analysis, restoration and exhibition of one of the world's most beautiful manuscripts, created in the 15th century. At the time, it was the first sponsor of this exceptional project.
Months later, it is with great emotion that the general public can finally admire the loose pages of this illuminated masterpiece, said to be more difficult to see than the Pope.
‘This patronage fully reflects our mission: to bring the treasures of the past back to life to nourish the creativity and knowledge of today. By supporting the Très Riches Heures, we are helping to pass on a universal heritage to future generations,’ says Miguel Perez de Guzman, General Delegate of the Fondation Etrillard.
The exhibition is open until October 5, 2025.
It is curated by Mathieu Deldicque, Chief Curator of Heritage and Director of the Musée Condé, and Marie-Pierre Dion, General Curator of Libraries.
