Master Gardeners on a trip to Creuse in France

The first class of Master Gardeners from the École Supérieure de Jardin went on a study trip from 15 to 19 September 2025.

The programme included immersion in the countryside, visits to remarkable gardens, sketching, workshops and inspiring discussions with other gardening enthusiasts, including French gardener and landscape designer Gilles Clément, who led a themed tour of his garden, ‘La Vallée’.

The Fondation Etrillard is delighted to sponsor this study trip. Thanks to its support, the future Master Gardeners were able to enjoy a unique and formative experience in the heart of Creuse.

Places and gardens visited by the students:
‘La Sagne’ Garden, Aulon; Garden of the ‘Plantes et Couleurs’ Association, Bénévent-l'Abbaye; ‘Ferdinand Villard’ public garden, Guéret; ‘La Souterraine’ public garden; Gilles Clément's ‘La Vallée’ garden; Arboretum de la Sédelle and ‘Clos Préfons’ garden, Crozant; ‘Val Maubrune’ garden, La Brionne.
